“BUSINESS ENGLISH FOR NEGOTIATING”- EXPRESS SERIES – 15 ore

OBIETTIVI DEL CORSO: Il corso è un corso di Business English volto alla negoziazione, con approfondimento grammaticale a supporto delle abilità comunicative e commerciali affrontate. Ogni step includerà: key expressions, listening, video e grammatica da integrare a supporto delle abilità linguistiche affrontate e adeguata al livello dei partecipanti.

PROGRAMMA      

1- Preparation: Topics: setting objectives, the HIT table (have to have, intend, tradable), the successful negotiator. Useful Language skills: Introduce yourself, Planning a meeting, providing explanations.

 

2- Setting objectives: Topics: Prioritizing objectives, drawing up the agenda, getting to know the other side. Useful Language skills: Arranging a meeting, stating and asking about issues, positions and interests, agreeing agenda points. Getting to know the other side – a preparation Checklist.

 

3- The meeting: invitation to a meeting, Last-minute changes to the agenda, The meeting’s goal. The best approach.  Useful Language skills: Amending and confirming the agenda. Adding in a final point and justifying it.

 

4- Communication-Proposal: making a proposal, responding to a proposal, offering a counterproposal. Useful Language skills: clarifying information, expressing possibilities and impossibilities. Linking offers to conditions. The power of BATNA: best alternative to a negotiated agreement. Expressing conditions and possible results.

 

5- A new offer: Types of negotiation, clarifying position, introducing new ideas, resolving differences. Useful Language skills: expressing opinions. Bargaining VS. negotiating. Leadership in multicultural teams. Get behind a position to create a win-win scenario – a true story.

 

6- Dealing with deadlock: negotiation tactics. Expressions for disagreeing: polite, less polite, expressions to slow down the conversation. Expressions for dealing with disagreement or deadlock. Asking questions effectively. Phrases to calm a situation and resolve problems.

 

7- Agreement: describing current/future situations, expressing agreement, conveying commitment, stating progress made or current status. Reading between the lines. Bringing negotiations to a head. Guaranteeing, discussing follow-up documentation, summarizing.

DURATA: 15 ore
